Here is my commenatry on 1 Thessalonians, a book written by the Apostle Paul. After "finishing" a study of Acts it is very appropriate to now study the epistles written by Paul to the churches that he established. By such a study I hope to better understand how God established His churches and also better understand how the modern church should be functioning. This espistle was written by Paul during his second missionary trip while he was in Corinth. If the Lord so wills I anticipate to next study the epistles Paul wrote to the other churches in the order written. This study will thoroughly demonstrate the purpose of God using the church as His arm in carrying out His will in the world. The study will also then show that the purpose of the church leaders is to carry out the Great Commision as clearly stated by our Lord in Matthew 28:19-20: we are to disciple, baptize, and teach the commands of Jesus to His people that He has called out of the world.
